Project Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead software development projects focused on Data Engineering and implementing cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, strong communication, leadership skills and a deep understanding of Databricks technology.

The role is 100% remote, however there is the opportunity to work with our clients and partners on occasion.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, timeline creation, and risk assessment.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet defined quality standards.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Effectively communicate project status and progress to stakeholders, including executive leadership, clients, and team members.
  • Manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting professional development and growth.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor their effectiveness.

Commercial Acumen:

  • Be able to support project forecasting, planning, and commercial proposal writing.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a software development environment, ideally with a focus on Databricks projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and their application in project management.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Jira, Miro, Trello).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Desirable

  • Data Engineering Expertise: Possess an understanding of Databricks as a tool, how it fits into cloud architecture, what its capabilities are, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams for data engineering.
